SensorTran CEO Kent Kalar presents the benefits of the Active Plug & Play Distributed Temperature Sensing solution at the DTS Summit 2007.

First DTS Summit a Smashing Success in October 2007
SensorTran sponsored and hosted the first ever Distributed Temperature Sensing Summit in Austin, TX USA on 4-5 October, 2007. The event was well-received and participants have shared a great deal of positive feedback on the event as well as its format. The event was well-attended, including 34 participants from 25 companies overall. Specifically, attendees came from all of the following vertical industries:
  • Downhole Oil & Gas
  • Process
  • Power Distribution and Transmission
  • Fiber Manufacturing
  • Cable Manufacturing
  • Industry Integrators
During the two days of sessions, SensorTran showed off new advancements in Active Plug & Play, fiber deployment for power, and visualization software. Specifically, the company unveiled more detail surrounding their revolutionary new PerfectVision™ DTS Technology and then walked the attendees through a full demo of the unit reading darkened fiber. During the factory tour, attendees were treated to a full mockup of a power duct bank in which SensorTran highlighted a new deployment technique for retrofitting fiber in existing power equipment. Attendees were also given a full walkthrough of the latest visualization software interfaces that help best illustrate DTS functionality in real-world assets.

Based on the exceedingly positive response SensorTran has received to date, we are planning to sponsor the Second Annual Distributed Temperature Sensing Summit during the second half of calendar year 2008. We are currently investigating other cities in which to hold the event, so check back to the SensorTran website in early 2008 for an update on our plans.

Thank you for your interest in DTS and SensorTran as a whole.
