Today, there is a need to close the online “information gap” that exists in subsea wells during their producing life. The cost of well intervention in subsea oil & gas wells, particularly in deepwater is often prohibitive and risky. Operators acknowledge the need to continuously monitor subsea wells for production performance management and seabed infrastructure for flow assurance on a permanent basis. Fiber optic sensing is becoming an increasingly powerful method of providing real time asset monitoring but up to now, this has been primarily confined to wells with dry trees.

The patent pending Neptune™ DTS system was developed by SensorTran to support deployment of fiber optic sensing systems in subsea wells thereby enabling better subsea asset management.  The Neptune™ DTS system extended reach combined with SensorTran’s patented PERFECTVISION™ technology provide operators with premium data for production optimization and reservoir management.

Typical applications include:
  • Gas lift monitoring & optimization
  • Flow allocation & Production optimization
  • Avoidance/deferment of well intervention
  • Subsea pipeline, flow-line and riser monitoring
  • Leak detection, hydrate detection and flow-assurance

The Neptune™ DTS system is certified for operation to 10,000 ft of water depth per ISO13628.
