Mercury™ (OEM Only)

The fast, cost-effective Mercury™ Linear Heat Detection System (LHDS) is based on SensorTran’s advanced Distributed Temperature Sensing (DTS) technology. At the core of each system is SensorTran’s proven DTS engine, specifically configured for linear heat detection applications. Used in conjunction with standard telecommunications grade optical fiber, Mercury™ systems provide fast, reliable and accurate temperature measurement points every meter up to a range of 5km. All SensorTran Mercury systems have an on-board Ethernet-enabled single board computer with 160GB of hard disk data storage and come pre-loaded with SensorTran’s DTS Commander™ software that provides for configuration, calibration, communication, alarm, autonomous operation and basic display functions. Optional data visualization software and optional Modbus, DNP3, and Relay Communication Modules are available.

The SensorTran Mercury™ LHDS is specifically designed for incorporation within third party control panels and has a protection rating of IP20. As noted, the systems are able to support a wide variety of ancillary input/output and communication devices.

Mercury™ units are also available in NEMA4 or standard 19" Rackmount packaging:

SensorTran offers a line of HeatSense™ Optical Sensing Cables as a complement to Mercury™ LHDS. All SensorTran HeatSense cables have a similar base construction, as shown. The cables are adapted to specific usage by varying the thickness and composition of the four outermost layers—the gel compound, Inner protective sheath, Primary protective sheath, and Outer protective sheath. Altering the composition of these layers affects both the weight and diameter of the sensing cable.
