LNG & Cryogenic

SensorTran’s range of advanced LNG & cryogenic monitoring solutions are based on their advanced fiber optic Distributed Temperature Sensing (DTS) technology.

These solutions provide continuous, autonomous, on-line temperature monitoring of storage tanks and pipelines to provide integrity monitoring, temperature heating control and, for cryogenic product, pipeline cool-down monitoring.

A typical DTS monitoring implementation would consist of one or more DTS units connected to optical fiber(s) which are installed within or under tanks and along pipelines.

SensorTran’s intelligent DTS monitoring solutions provide real-time dynamic temperature readings with high accuracy, fine resolution, and fast measurement speeds. They provide up to 40,000 discrete temperature measurement points together with their individual locations. These systems are perfectly suited for storage tank and facility integrity monitoring.


Applications include cryogenic product (LNG, LPG, ethylene, ammonia) and fuel oil such as:
• Buried or above ground storage tanks
• Single and double-wall tanks
• On-shore and ship-installed installations
• Pipelines
