Software
SensorTran’s software suite runs on Windows XP and is comprised of 4 different product offerings. DTS Commander™ houses all of the command and control functions for the DTS system and provides for basic data visualization. The visualization allows for the simultaneous automatic update and display of multiple traces (one for each channel). DTS Commander™ is required for operation and ships standard with all units. The DTS Commander™ has the following control functions:
- Allows for system set up and configuration (probe configuration, trace length, alarms, verification of optical losses, and power management)
- Allows for intuitive visual calibration of the system
- Controls communications
- Conducts system self-diagnostics
- Triggers conditions-based alarms
- Allows autonomous operation
Working in conjunction with DTS Commander™ the other software offerings provide advanced data display and integration functions. All SensorTran software can be upgraded remotely. The three advanced feature sets available are:
- DataViewer™
- AssetViewer™
- DataFuser™
DataViewer™ is a set of data visualization features offered as an upgrade to the standard software. DataViewer™ has two functions. First, it allows users to visualize data for various zones along the length of the fiber probe. This provides a moderate level of visualization as it allows users to interpret temperature information in meaningful groupings. DataViewer™ is automatically configured from the settings with the DTS Commander™ software and requires no additional setup. The software simultaneously displays multiple temperature profiles, summary temperature data, and alarm status information for each zone. Recorded data can also be replayed using the Data Control facility to view historical events at various speeds.
The second main function of the DataViewer™ feature set is to provide 3-D plotting capabilities. The 3D plots allow for a richer view of the data across time and the various channels.
AssetViewer™ is an optional software product that provides a graphical visualization of the temperature – mapping the data directly to the asset being monitoring. Temperature data is dynamically scaled to match the current asset view. This feature set has all the functionality of DataViewer™ with the additional ability to see not just a temperature zone, but the actual underlying features and characteristics of the asset being monitored. The AssetViewer™ has a library of "drag and drop" graphics that allow users to quickly and accurately render even complex installations.
DataFuser™ is the software package that comes standard with the Lynx™ integrated hybrid DTS/FBG system. DataFuser™ is not available for use with any other system. DataFuser™ software pulls data from both the DTS and FBG systems to synchronize, archive, and display all sensor information. DataFuser™ software has all the features of the DTS Commander™, DataViewer™, and AssetViewer™. Once an asset is created using the library of components, data from each of the sensors (DTS and FBG) is mapped to its corresponding location on the asset.
